News and Alerts
Effective April 30, 2008 Central Arkansas Transit will no longer provide bus shuttles to Alltel Arena,
Riverfest and other public events. This is a result of new charter regulations issued by the Federal
Transit Administration. Alltel Arena and Riverfest staff intend to continue providing shuttles and will
be negotiating with private charter providers.
CAT has provided bus shuttles to Alltel Arena since its opening and has operated the Riverfest shuttle
for 18 years. We have made many new friends during this time and are glad to have had the opportunity to provide the service.
RIVER RAIL CASH FARE INCREASE
New Pass and Ride Card Introduced
On March 3, 2008 the cash fare for River Rail increased from 50 cents to $1.00 for persons age 12 and above.
Cash fare for persons with disabilities, persons age 65 and over, and children age 5 though age 11, increased from 25 cents to 50 cents.
The cost of the River Rail Day Pass remained the same at $2.00 and children through age 4 ride free.
A new 30Day Pass and a 20-Ride Card were introduced on March 3. The 3-Day pass sells for $5.00 and provides unlimited
rides on River Rail for 3 consecutive days. The 20-Ride Card is available for $15.00 and provides 20 trips on River Rail.
CAT's Ready to Rack & Roll
Bicycle racks have been installed on every CAT bus, including express route buses. Each rack will accommodate two bikes. These new racks make it easier for cyclists to ride their bikes to and from work.
Bike to the bus stop, catch the bus, and then bike to the workplace from the bus stop nearest to your destination. And with the rising cost of gasoline, that can mean a financial savings for commuters.
For work or recreation, CAT invites you to Rack & Roll.
SYSTEM MAP AND SCHEDULES AVAILABLE IN SPANISH
Each CATA bus schedule has instructions on how to read the schedule. Now a Spanish translation of those instructions has been added to each schedule.
