River Rail Streetcar ProjectRiver Rail ExpansionIn 2002, the Transit Authority Board held public meetings on the recommendations of a consultant report on expanding the River Rail Streetcar Project. The recommended plan map is downloadable from this page. It shows the results of many public meetings and professional analysis. The map shows new segments in recommended priority ranking based on many factors. The ranking is subject to change as private investment and other changes occur in the two downtowns, and as funding opportunities arise. The ranking is not official, but is a technical recommendation. This plan has not been adopted by the Transit Authority or the entities which fund the River Rail Streetcar project, or Metroplan. However, it does represent a reasonable approach to eventual expansion of the streetcar operation, and we welcome public comments on the expansion proposal.
