What is WestRock?
WestRock shuttle is a new curb-to-curb service that can come to your home or workplace in West Little Rock. WestRock runs one van in the North zone and one in the South zone from 8:00 a.m. 10:30 p.m., Monday Friday.

How do I ride?
There are a couple of ways to ride WestRock:
  1. Call ahead Monday Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. and schedule a pick-up and drop-off. You can make a reservation for a single ride, a round-trip or a standing reservation.
  2. You can also pick up the shuttle at one of our timepoints and tell the driver where you need to be dropped off.

What's a Standing Reservation?
A standing reservation is when you are requesting to be picked up or dropped off at the same time, to the same destination on a given day. We also call this subscription service. You won't need to always call ahead and schedule a standing reservation. Once the Scheduler has your information, you will need to call the day before your scheduled ride and find out your pick up time.

What's a Timepoint?
A timepoint is the location and time where you can always expect to catch a WestRock vehicle. For example, the North Route uses Wal-Mart at Markham & Chenal and the Budget Saver Foods store (formerly Harvest Foods) at Highway 10 & Taylor Loop Road as timepoints. The South Route uses Wal-Mart at Markham & Chenal and the intersection of Chenal Parkway and Rahling Road as timepoints.

Okay, how does my drop-off work if I'm picked up at a Timepoint?
The driver will write down your address and then work your drop-off into the schedule around the requests he's already received.

How much does it cost to ride WestRock?
Cash fare is $1.25. If you have a monthly pass, you must show your pass and put an additional 25 cents in the farebox.

What if I am transferring from the West Markham bus at Wal-Mart? Do I still pay $1.25?
No, if you know you will be transferring to WestRock, you will need to request and pay for the transfer (10 cents) when you board the West Markham bus. When you board WestRock, you will give the driver 25 cents and the transfer.

What if I am transferring from WestRock to the big bus?
When you board WestRock, you will pay the regular fare ($1.25 or show your pass and the 25 cents), as well as request and pay for a transfer. You'll give the big bus driver the transfer when you board.

Can I transfer between zones?
Yes, you'll need to pay the regular fare when you board the first vehicle and request a transfer. When you board the transfer vehicle, you'll need to give your driver the transfer.

How can I access the Baptist and Rodney Parham Routes?
You can access the Baptist and Rodney Parham Routes by requesting a drop off or pick up at the bus stop's route within the WestRock zone.

Okay, say I've scheduled a ride, how does it work when I'm picked up? Will the driver honk or come knock on my door when he arrives?
No, you will need to be ready five minutes before the reserved time and watch for the WestRock van. The driver will not honk or come to the door.

What if I need help getting in the van?
The driver has a step stool and will gladly offer you assistance getting in the van.

What do I do if I find out that I can't make my scheduled ride?
Call as soon as you know you can't make your ride. There is a 2-hour minimum cancellation policy, as a courtesy to other riders. You must call 372-RIDE (7433). There is an answering machine available to take calls from 9:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. It is fine for you to leave a next day cancellation on the answering machine.

Is WestRock like Night Owl, which can only be used for work-related trips?
WestRock can be used to get you to your job, to get you to a shopping destination, to school, to a restaurant, to the grocery store and of course, to link to the big bus to get to any destination served by the big bus.

If I catch the van at Wal-Mart, how do I know which van is going to which zone?
That's easy: the North van has large blue "North" signs on it, while the South van has hot pink "South" signs on it.
